School Curriculum: Reclaiming Native Truth

Currently, much of public and private school curricula misrepresents Native people in history and contemporary issues. Native contributions in subjects outside social studies are largely ignored. Because of this misrepresentation and lack of acknowledgement, Native people continue to be one of the most marginalized groups in the United States. The NVP works with school districts to evaluate their present curriculum and make improvements where necessary to bring truth to history and cultural competency to the school environment.
